Conservation of a Danish “Harp” Chair by Jorgen Hovelskov
Conservation of “Harp” chair including cleaning and restringing
Date completed : 30 September 2011 Duration : 3 Weeks
The chair was dirty and the cord frayed and broken in places. After cleaning and treating with Danish oil the cord was replaces with a similar chord. The method was to re-thread the new cord at the same time that the old cord was removed. This allowed similar fixings and tensions to be maintained.
