‘Ness’ by Roy Slade – cleaning an acrylic painting
Cleaning an acrylic painting and preparing for display.
Date completed : 1 March 2022 Duration : 1 Week
This painting by Roy Slade, (along with a similar painting, ‘Mount’) was cleaned in preparation for display. A missing stretcher key was replaced and the slack canvas was keyed out. The client did not want the paintings framed, however a backboard was fitted to prevent dust ingress. No new holes were made, as existing tears to the painting turn over edges were utilised for the fixings.
