Liz Branigan ACR
Based in Northumberland, and with over thirty years of working as a bookbinder and conservator, both employed and self employed, I can offer an experienced and professional approach covering all aspects of the care of books and archives from collection condition surveys with pragmatic recommendations for improvements in their care and storage, to bookbinding and remedial conservation /restoration and repair of individual items. Also condition reports for exhibition and exhibition mounts, bespoke box making and parchment and seal conservation.
From family bibles to medieval manuscripts, Mrs Beetons cookbooks to Royal charters, all work will be fully discussed and agreed with the client both before and if necessary during treatment.
I am happy to look at items and there is no obligation to proceed with the work. Estimates are not usually charged for.
Local clients have included Alnwick Castle, Beamish Museum, Durham Cathedral, Killhope Museum, National Trust, Trinity House, Ushaw College, York Minster and many private clients.
