I am an experienced conservator with specialist knowledge in sculpture,  large and small object conservation and archaeological  site conservation and management  I originally qualified at the City and Guilds of London Art School specialising in stone, wood and related decorative surfaces (polychromy, lacquer and gilding}; later widening my chemical and physical knowledge to include metals. My years spent at the British Museum, gave me extraordinary experience which provided the foundation for travel and work overseas in the Middle East on two national collections; Turkey,  where for ten years I was Head of Conservation at the Byzantine site of Amorium  and the USA, forming a strategic partnership with 3rd Coast Conservation at Liparini for whom I manage significant projects for a variety of institutions, including major museums and universities in Chicago. In Chicago in working for the Museum of Contemporary Art I built wider experience in modern materials like plastics and other materials including the use of wax in artworks. A little over a decade ago I took time to formally study heritage management gaining my MA at the University of Birmingham.   We established a home in Wales from where I travel when required to for work but also manage projects for organisations in the wider UK and in the West Midlands and Wales.

I have a interests in contemporary art, abandoned industrial and domestic archaeology, social history, and occasional fly fishing.
